New 2013 Ford Ranger XL 4X4 Double Cab Launched in Malaysia from RM80K

Adding to its Ranger family, Ford Malaysia has announced the arrival of the new Ford Ranger XL 4X4 Double Cab, a variant available from RM 79,888.

Performance: Up to 1,000km on a single tank of fuel

The Ford Ranger XL Double Cab will feature Ford’s tried, tested and familiar Duratorq TDCi 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes 125PS and 320Nm of torque. It will also return fuel consumption figures of up to 8.1l/100km from its 80-litre fuel tank; potentially capable of going 1,000km on a single tank of diesel.

Interior comfort: Two six-footers in the back, no problem

Moving its B-pillars forward, the Ford Ranger XL Double Cab offers more legroom for rear passengers; best-in-class rear legroom if anyone’s counting. The interior as a whole is of course more spacious than before.

Making full use of its new found cabin space, the all-new Ford Ranger XL Double Cab offers more than 20 storage spaces inside the cabin alone: these will accommodate everything from water bottles to 16-inch laptop computers to the working man’s tools.

Verdict: It looks good, and goes even better

We’ve known the Ford Ranger to be one heck of a car for taking your business off the road. Through the arrival of the Double Cab however, it’s not just your business, but for four of five others’, that will get off the road without issue; rather comfortably as well.

Pricing and availability:

Bookings for the Ford Ranger XL 4X4 Double Cab are now opened at all Ford showrooms nationwide. Prices start at RM 79,888 and the first batch of orders are expected to arrive this month (Feb, 2012).
